报告题目:Unlocking the Power of the Metabolomics
报告人:Professor Xiang Zhang

报告人简介:Dr. Xiang Zhang graduated from Purdue University with a doctorate in Chemistry in 2001. After working in a biotechnology company as a Senior Scientist for three years, he moved to the Bindley Bioscience Center in Purdue University’s Discovery Park. In 2004, he became the center’s Lead Scientist of Computational Life Sciences and Informatics. In Jan. 2008, Dr. Zhang joined the Department of Chemistry of the University of Louisville. He currently is a Professor and University Scholar in the Departments of Chemistry, Pharmacology & Toxicology. He also serves as Director of Center for Regulatory and Environmental Analytical Metabolomics (CREAM). Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on bioinformatics and bioanalytical method development for metabolomics. In his career, Dr. Zhang has published 119 peer reviewed scientific papers and book chapters.

报告人简介:Dr. Christian Nansen Obtained Ph.D. in 2000 from Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Denmark. 2007 became Assistant Professor of Texas A&M University. Currently, Professor University of California at Davis. Specialized in stored product insect ecology, pheromone production, vegetation analysis, satellite image interpretation, ecology of insect and crop under drought stress. Published over 100 papers in Journal of Economic Entomology、Environmental Entomology and Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry etc.

 

报告题目:Using Novel Epidemiological Approaches to track Salmonella

报告人简介:Obtained DVM from University of California Davis in 2008 and MPVM, University of California Davis in 2009. Did research on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of livestock production systems with respect to anthropogenic Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and on Microbial Ecology of Milk Powder Production Using Terminal Restriction Fragment-PCR (TRFP) and the Development of a Rapid PCR Assay for the Detection of Mesophilic Bacilli Endospores in Milk Powder. Served as a Lead poultry veterinarian California Department of Food & Agriculture (2010-2013), State of California and currently, Assistant Specialist in Cooperative Extension, Poultry Health and Food Safety Epidemiology.
